ELLIPSE - a sculptural fire bowl made of Corten steel that surprises with unexpected functionality. When placed at the center of the action, it can take a neutral position, but can also be positioned toward a seating area or to shield the flames from excessive wind. The base ensures stability and supports the rounded bowl. It also serves as an ash pan: When the fire has largely burned out and needs to be completely extinguished, the bowl can be grasped with gloves and emptied into the base by lifting it from one side. This base is then closed with the empty fire bowl in an upside-down position, which smothers and extinguishes the remaining fire.
